First serious Lactate Threshold run on a high school track in newport beach.
I was targeting 6:40 pace just to get a feel for what I could handle since my previous runs were on the road and had some error based on the accuracy of my Garmin GPS watch.
I ended up being pretty spot on for the first three miles, then I held on for mile 4 and at mile 5 I lost my focus and gave up for a few seconds. On the second lap, I made a commitment to not give up and then I relaxed and starting pushing harder. I was pretty happy with the performance despite not getting the times I wanted. I realized I needed to have more mental grit and focus when I run hard. This was a good first test towards that strategy.
