Training to break the 3:00 hour marathon at St. Geroge 2014 ... this will be my five year anniversary.

I used to run marathons but I stopped running for the past 2.5 years or so. I used to run 7:30 pace for my 20 mile runs. Well, today I attempted to go back to that strategy.

I had an awesome start with a 7:22 pace for the first half marathon. Then I started fading ... mile 14 7:55 pace 15 8:07 pace 16 8:05 pace to hold on for a 7:30 pace over 16 miles which for me is a recent victory. Mile 17 -19 were close to 8:15 pace plus a 45 second adder for a water fountain break. Then Miles 20, 21, and 22 were a crawl at 8:45 pace.

I ended up finishing my run at around 7:45 pace overall. Not bad but something to work on.

St. George is coming up soon and I need to be ready to push it much harder.
